OUR RESILIENT COMMUNITY
Think Globally - Act Locally
Start At Home!

We are stronger together.
Whilst we may have our opinions on world affairs, the majority of us will have little impact on what goes on out there! However, we can definitely have an impact at home!
By acting locally we can work together to build a strong, caring and enjoyable community to live in day by day, season by season, prepared as best we can for tomorrow.
From supporting our pub, church, school, hall and local businesses, to being on good terms with our neighbours; from going to a local club or to donating blood, there are many ways to nurture a place. This website is dedicated to the people of Langford Budville, Runnington, Chipley, Wellisford, and all the other little hedgy corners of our community. Whilst it is full of helpful and relevant information, its greatest impact we hope will be to help people find people!

The Aims Of Langford Budville's Emergency Plan
-
Ensure the safety of everyone in our community.
-
To have appropriate actions and systems in place to provide vital information, guidance and direct support where needed, especially when police, fire or ambulance etc. are delayed.
The Parish Council has produced this Community Emergency And Resilience Plan for every resident to help them prepare and act in times of emergency and crisis.
Visit our Emergency Preparedness page for advice about preparing for emergencies.
Visit our Cosy Homes page for advice about making your home more comfortable and efficient for the future.
Visit our Emergency Kit page to see what equipment your neighbours have found useful during emergency situations.
Visit our Skill Share page (under construction) if you want to access practical skills for life, from First Aid to emergency plumbing!

Our community has created a network of local Emergency Volunteers, ready to help their neighbours when needed. The emergency services remain our primary route for help when life and property are at risk, but where these services are delayed or overloaded, or where the needs of our neighbours can be supported by the actions of our community, we are developing a system for our volunteers to support with food, heat, health and shelter.
If you would like to know who your closest Emergency Volunteers are, or if you would like to help, please email Derek.
Our emergency response will be a community wide effort, for everyone and by everyone, with neighbours supporting neighbours, each according to their ability and means. For example, being able to supply hot meals could be just as vital as being able to drive a 4x4 or provide first aid. We can all help in our own way. Email Derek to find out more.
